  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

OMG!!! The celebration is getting out of control-- it has gone CYBER now!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!

Claire, thanks for the shout out, but now I positively RED in the face (and you know how hard it is to embarrass me, having survived nearly choking on bits of a 73-year-old cadevear's teste). WOW.

Sincerely, thanks, friend, for your very kind words and enthusiasm. My friends-- including Mr. Megaphone Peter Thomas-- make life truly lovely! THANK YOU!

Love,
Bird

Bird-- there will be a picture to accompany this post once I get home and dig one up... :)

Oh, God! Well, it can't be any worse than the one they flashed at the awards ceremony last night-- I had that ridiculous thousand-points-of-light, please-conduct-my-dental-exam-from-the-audience smile plastered on, so it was a winning pic, to be sure!!!

I'm putting my order in for an 8 x 10 glossy. Rawrrr.

Congrats and cheers, Bertie.

Anthony is creepy.

Thanks, Claire, for the kind words and the (semi) flattering photo! I am very worried about what some of those other photos might look like if this is the best you have! I'll make a note to send you some prints from my Glammer Shots studio session!!!

:)

I had a nice picture of you and Jenny from last summer, but I didn't want her stealing your thunder. :) Truth be told, I just don't have many digital pics of you, since I didn't get this camera til last year.
